President Rick Schneider
thanks Robert "Bob" Elmore for his generous
Capital campaign contribution to support Channel
2's conversion to digital broadcasting. |

The Program
Trust Fund was established in 1981 to accept gifts for endowment
and capital projects. The endowment provides about $1 million
annually toward Channel 2's operating budget. The Program
Trust Fund also seeks contributions necessary to convert
Channel 2 to the recently adopted digital broadcasting standard.
Total conversion costs are expected to exceed $25 million.
To a very large
extent, the future of this station depends on its ability to increase
its endowment and fund the conversion to digital. Annual membership
contributions and underwriting grants keep the "on" on-air; that
support is designated for immediate operating needs and, is absolutely
critical to the growth and development of WPBT. Channel 2's future
excellence depends on its ability to build a permanent base of
support through an active and successful endowment program, and
its ability to keep abreast of technology while maintaining the
latest in facilities and equipment.
We invite you
to join with Channel 2's loyal supporters who are helping to assure
the future of South Florida's premier public television station
by contributing to The Program Trust Fund. Gifts to the
Fund come in many forms and can be tailored to fit nearly any donor's
objectives. Some are bequests;
some are in the form of annuities or trusts,
which provide lifetime income to the donor; some are outright unrestricted gifts;
some are restricted; and still others are in honor of a loved one.
