Olympia Theatre – Miami’s Olympia Theater first opened in 1926 as a silent movie palace. With perfect acoustics and stunning architecture, it was truly a masterpiece of “atmospheric” theater design. But after decades of neglect, the once-regal theater was scheduled to be demolished in the 1970s. Thankfully, it was spared from the wrecking ball by philanthropist Maurice Gusman, and the theater has since undergone extensive renovations.
